Five Affordable Platform Heel Trends for Spring 2020

One of the things I love about spring is the chance to dress lighter from my head to my feet. For spring 2011, our (hopefully) manicured feet will get a chance to breathe once again and see the sun. This spring the platform heel, specifically the platform pump and sandal, will give those pretty tootsies their time in the sun. Besides all these features, you also get excellent shoe insoles with every model that is here on this list providing you the best comfort and an unmatched style. Here I’ve picked five very affordable platforms heels. These five heels also complement some of the clothing trends for spring 2011.

Proper Pumps for Spring 2011 from Style Co.; Shoes

The Style Co.; Proper Pumps are the ladylike platform, the open-toed pump of the season. The Proper Pump has a four-inch heel, man-made upper and sole with an adjustable buckle slingback. Affordably priced at $59.00, this platform pump comes in colors black, banana and khaki and sizes range from 6-medium to 10-medium. The spring midi hemline trend is a great complement to this pump. You can purchase this shoe at Macy’s online.

That 70’s Patent Pump is Trendy for Spring 2011

The Dajani Pump, sold at JC Penney, is the mega-tall 70s-inspired platform pump of spring. This black, patent pump features a 5.25-inch heel, synthetic patent upper and rubber sole. Modestly priced at $49.99, the Dajani Pump comes in sizes from 6-medium to 11-medium. The 1970’s, Yves Saint Laurent-inspired pantsuit styles seen on the Milan runway for spring 2011 are an ideal match for this platform pump.

Spring’s Chunky, Yet Comfortable Platform Sandal

Gomax’s Jacqueline 01 Sandal is one of the trendiest platform sandals of spring. The Jacqueline 01 has a 5-inch heel, 1.5-inch platform, synthetic upper and lining, buckle closure and rubber outsole. Sizes range from 6-medium to 11-medium. Sold at Piperlime for $49.00, this sandal has already received praise from customers. What I like about this platform heel is its sturdiness. The thick heel offers support to help make walking in these 5-inch heels easier. This shoe complements the western-look trend spotted on the Ralph Lauren spring 2011 runway last September.

Iron Fist Has the Perfect Platform Pump for the Young and Trendy.

One of the major trends for spring 2011 is a little on the “Lolita” side with youth-centered fashions similar to those displayed by TwentyTwelve at the London spring 2011 shows. Iron Fist’s Black and Blue Stripe Sink Ship Heel is the perfect accessory for this Lolita trend. Priced at only $39.99, this open-toed pump has piped edging and seams, a polka dot bow at the toe and a 5-inch heel with a 1-inch platform. You can purchase this platform pump at OneStopPlus.

Payless Shoes Has a Very Affordable Platform Pump for Spring 2011

The Fiona, Kutie Knot Platform Pump, sold at Payless for $26.99, is the flirty, feminine shoe for spring. This faux suede darling is a peep-toe pump with an attractive knot detail at the toe, a 4-inch heel and a half-inch platform. The Kutie Knot comes in three colors: black, pink (more like a dusty rose) and sand. Sizes depend on the color you choose with black having the most range with medium and wide widths extending to a size 13. Even though I am partial to the sand shade, I will be purchasing this lovely shoe in a 13-wide black. This shoe is perhaps the most versatile spring platform pump and one of the cheapest. Since I am purchasing the black pump, I plan to wear it with the white jean trend this spring. If you are on a tight budget and desire a platform pump with a thicker heel, this is my personal pick of the season.

Platform Heel Tips for Spring

Choose a platform with a modest or modest-looking platform. A height between one-half-inch and two inches is best. Any platform height greater than two inches may end up looking like “stripper heels” which can work for the evening and weekend but would be a no-no at the office.    For plus-size ladies like myself, I recommend purchasing a platform pump or sandal with a thick heel to help distribute your weight more evenly. Heels that are less than a three-quarter inch thick may cause balance issues. Colors to check out this season are shades of pink, white (spring’s “it” color), sand/beige, golden yellow hues and of course you can never go wrong with basic black.
